I love this ice mold! I wasn't sure if the ice it produced would be too big or not, so I got this one and a somewhat smaller silicone 4-ice ball mold.

I LOVE this one!. The size is great for a standard 'bucket' glass. Unlike the silicone molds that bend when filled with water, usually spilling some on the way to the freezer, this one holds its shape when full.

The silicone top fits snugly into the base, and they are sturdy enough to stack in the freezer.

I like that they are individual units. If your freezer is like mine, you may not have space for a larger tray, but can usually find room here and there to stash one of these.

Removal - the top comes off easily. Sometimes you may need to run the base with the ice in it under a little warm water for it to release.

If I know I am having guests I make extra and keep in a plastic bag in the freezer until needed. They always impress!

OK, I have the removal technique perfected: first twist the top so the sphere is loosened from lower plastic part. Then lift the two silicon tabs, squeezing them toward each other over the top until it comes off the sphere; Pour the ice from the plastic into your glass! Easy!

OK. They have a line so you know how much water to place in the mold. Freeze them for 5 hours. They are ready to rock. There is often some difficultly in getting them out of the rubber mold. So set them on the counter and wait about 5 minutes for a bit of thawing. You can also run some water over the top. Use purified water. They won't always come out clear. Sometimes they crack. In general, you'll get a perfect sphere which fills up your glass. They are necessary for Old Fashioned drinks or sipping bourbon. However, they still don't last that long in the glass.

Great quality! Doesn't leave white residue like the floppy silicon molds. Love that it's easy to fill to the right amount of water without creating a mess! I bought the silicon ones first because they were cheaper, but hated them and ended up buying these anyway. Definitely worth the price - don't waste your money on the other ones like I did
