Got this for my daughter for her birthday. The lines are crisp, and they appear to be about 1 mm deep. The roller is almost 8" across, and the edges have about 1/8" on each side where there's no embossing. So the pattern will roll about 7.5" in one pass. Nice handle length for gripping. This will make beautiful Christmas/winter cookies!

I bought this rolling pin to use on clay. It works great. It can be a little difficult to clean but the pattern is clear. When I bought this pin it was described as paisley but it actually has a winter theme with snowflakes. This should have been mentioned in the title.
